Lovelife Dances CD

Released September 2003

The Hartenshield Group, producer of music by William Copper, announces a new recording of Copper's amazing Lovelife Dances.

Loosely modeled on the famous "Liebeslieder Waltzes" by Johannes Brahms, Lovelife Dances is a musical look at love using words from six centuries of English poetry: 15th century Geoffrey Chaucer to 20th century American poet James Merrill.

According to the producer, this recording defines a new style of American music, classical but popular in appeal. Music editor Gregg Sewell, calling it "an amazing suite" and "a work of singular grace", summarized it succinctly: "I'm in love with the work."

In an essay written for the recording, Copper gives his own view of the songs: "Taken all together, they give a playful summary of life's loves, though many of them seem chosen to illustrate life's loves' limits -- and its lessons."

The CD is an indie label release available directly from the producer or from online sales at www.hartenshield.com and cdbaby.com.
