New Lovelife Dances for Completion
June, 2002. American composer William Copper, following on the very positive critical reception for his Lovelife Dances, announced that the New Lovelife Dances are due to be completed in the fall of 2002.
Both Lovelife Dances and New Lovelife Dances are written on a model provided by the great German composer, Johannes Brahms, with his Liebeslieder Waltzer and Neue Liebeslieder Waltzer (Love Song Waltzes and New Love Song Waltzes). But Copper's music is very distinctly in his own style, an accessible but unique American voice.
William Copper, of Wilmington, a composer of orchestral, chamber, choral, and vocal music, attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Eastman School of Music, and the Krakow Poland Higher School of Music. His composition teachers were some of the most well-known contemporary composers in the world, including George Crumb, Krzysztof Penderecki, and Joseph Schwantner.
