Lullaby for Christmas is a lovely treble Christmas song with full string accompaniment. The melodies are beautiful and the ending is moving. The text has a number of subtle twists (see below). Duration 3 minutes. Lullaby for Christmas is also available for Chorus SATB and strings.

Why cry, baby? Don't cry.             Hush, my baby, why cry?
    When you get your eyes all wet,       Dream with me, you'll feel 
And feel bad,                         A better baby,
    So do I.                              Bye and bye.

                Lull a baby, bye bye,
                    You'll sleep and drift and find
                A better baby, deep inside.
                    Then you'll wake and feel good,
                So, so will I. 


Thus in a stall,
    In a manger in Bethlehem town.
         (Lull a baby bye, hear the baby cry.)
Mary and Joseph
    Had fallen asleep on the straw. 
        (See the tear in the baby's eye, hear the baby cry.)
Holy boy God gave us 
    Looked through a crack to the sky,
        (Where the angels fly, and the heavens sigh.)
Looked to his Father 
    And asked of this tear in his eye.
        (In his flesh and blood baby's eye, baby, baby, my, my.)
Then from the sky
    Came a rainfall of tears from a cloud.
        (Lullala baby bye.)
Falling, the rain
    Made a sound of an angel choir: glory sung on high.
        (Lull a baby bye.)
Waking Mary, who sang this lullaby.
